                                 Sacred Concert.
The concert in connection with Wesley Chapel Sunday School Services came off Monday evening last before a very large audience at Wesley Chapel. The various turns on the programme were fairly well rendered, Miss Adeline MacDermott's solo selected from the Oratorio "Joshua", being especially deserving of mention. This young lady is the possessor of a very sympathetic soprano of acute quality, which she uses with discretion, and it reflects great credit on Mr. T. Ellis Jackson who has been her exclusive trainer. Miss MacDermott was vociferously encored. Mention must also be made of the solos rendered by Messrs Moseley (tenor), Lorman and Mills (baritones) Miss Coverly (mezzo-soprano), and Miss Lunan (soprano). On the whole the entertainment was highly successful, and all departed feeling that they had truly spent a pleasant evening.

(Jackson, MacDermott and Coverly, as members of the Kingston Choral Union, toured the U.K. in 1906, '07 and '08 where the choir was called the 'Famous Jamaican Choir'. Their careers continued over several decades.)
